Drag and Drop in Practice

In the 4grosze app, most operations can be performed using the "drag and drop" method.

1 Recording an Expense

Drag an account onto an envelope and enter the amount. The app will suggest recently used categories for the selected envelope.

2 Recording Income

Drag an account onto the To be allocated field. Also select the appropriate income category.

3 Recording a Transfer

Drag one account onto another and enter the transfer amount. For example, to record an ATM withdrawal, drag your bank account onto your wallet.

4 Clearing Envelope Debt

If an envelope is in the negative, you can quickly top it up by moving money from another envelope (long press the envelope before dragging) or from the To be allocated field. The app will immediately suggest the missing amount.

5 Moving Money Between Envelopes

You can move money between envelopes by dragging one envelope onto another. Remember to long press the envelope before dragging.

6 Zeroing Out Envelopes

At any time, you can pull out the remaining money from an envelope - long press and drag it onto the To be allocated field. The app will immediately suggest the entire remaining value of the envelope. This is especially useful when there's some "spare change" left at the end of the month and you don't want to carry it over to the next month.
